Here are some notes from the January EAA Chapter 277 meeting.
- A memorial for Curt Welge will be held at Hanger 1, at the Southern Illinois Airport this Saturday January 19, 2019 from 1-3.
- The Chapter welcomes Don Morris as our new president. We hope Don has experience herding cats.
- The Chapter has a little extra money and is looking into giving some of it away in the form of student scholarships. If you know anyone who might be deserving, let Scott Hartwig know.
- Our treasurer Mike Fleming is collecting dues for 2019.
- We were pleased to receive a presentation about a new student organisation at SIU-C, the SIUC Experimental Aircraft Club. Please give them a “Like” and “Follow” on their Facebook page.
- Mike Fleming and Don Morris described and demonstrated their new wooden,seven-cylinder radial engine.
- Sam announced the Big Muddy Air Race will not be held this year.
- We are still waiting for biographies for several of you. Please email them to sam.hoskins@gmail and I’ll get you included.
